Learning to Cook Within a Budget
Join Mai Lighthouse in Auckland for a four-week cooking programme designed to help whānau eat well, spend less, and build greater financial resilience.
Through hands-on cooking sessions, participants will learn how to prepare affordable, nutritious meals using practical ingredients, reduce reliance on takeaways, and make the most of their food budget. Alongside cooking skills, the programme explores simple ways to build healthy financial habits and free up money for savings.
Whether you're cooking for one or a whole whānau, this programme offers practical tips, shared learning, and everyday strategies to help you feel more confident in the kitchen and with your finances.
Participants can attend whichever session works best for them, with eight drop-in opportunities available throughout August. Sessions will run on 4, 11, 18, 25 August from 5pm–8pm and 7, 14, 21, 28 August from 9am–12pm.
