This is a very special Māori Language Week. It’s been 50 years since Te Petihana Reo Māori, the language petition that set the country on a new course to revitalise te reo Māori, was presented to Parliament on September 14, 1972.
Since we’ve been answering heaps of money questions in both English and te reo Māori lately (you can find them all here), for this occasion here are your top 10 money questions in te reo.
(You’ll find the English version here.)
Kei tēnā anō ōna ake hiahia whakahaere moni, ā, mā tō mōhio ki a koe anō me ō ake tikanga whakahaere moni e whakamārama i ō ake kōwhiringa moni. Ko ētahi ka hoko i ngā mea kounga, ko ētahi ka hoko i ngā mea maha. Kāore he whakautu tika, he āwhata noa iho ka taka ki tētahi taha, ki tētahi taha.
He nui ngā whakariterite i ō mātou mahere whakapau, engari i runga i tērā, ākene pea me nui ake ngā whiringa. Anei ētahi huatau kia tawhiti kē atu ō moni, he huarahi ki te penapena hoko kai, me ētahi whakaaro mahi moni tāpiri, ki te mahi moni anō.
Engari he ngāwari noa te hoki anō ai ki te taumahatanga o te nama, me te kaikai i ngā pūtea penapena nā te tāmi ahumoni me te pikinga utu. Me mātua whakarite i te mahi a ia tāra i roto i te mahere pūtea. Anei ētahi kōrero mō te utu i a koe i te tuatahi, me ētahi huatau mō te whakamahi pūtea kia tawhiti kē atu tana haere.
He nui ā tātou kōwhiringa toitū i a tātou e hoko hua ana i ēnei rā, ahakoa ko te kawhe me te tiakere hoko-tōkeke, ngā hua whenua ā-rohe, ngā kākahu tuitui ā-matatika rānei. He pērā anō hoki ngā haumitanga.
Kia tīmata tō pānui – he nui ngā tahua me ngā kamupene he pūrongo toitū ā rātou – ka taea e koe te tiro mēnā e hāngai ana ki ō uara, mēnā e pai ana ana hoki mō te taiao.
Hokona ngā taputapu kāore e hiahiatia ana, rapua he mahi tāpiri, otirā kia riro wawe ai he kotahi mano tāra.
He pai tonu kia noho wehe tō pūtea ohotata, otirā kia noho rite.
Anei he kōrero mō te tīmata i tō tahua ohotata.
E rongo ana mātou i tō mamae – e kōrero ana hoki te marea mō te huamoni whakaputu me ērā mea, engari mēnā kāore he moni hei whakaputu (ā, e tāketia ana hoki), kua toka tō noho.
Kua whakahekea e ngā pae haumi pēnei i a Sharesies, Hatch, InvestNow, a Kernel rānei ngā tauārai o te mahi haumi.
Me whakaaro pēnei: mō ia $100,000 ka penapenahia, he āhua rite ki te $100 i ia wiki mō tō ahungarua. He tāpiringa tēnei ki tō penihana.
